Feeling charitable? Give and inspire, RIHANNA did it.
Rihanna gave a riveting performance of the Bob Marley classic "Redemption Song"to inspire those struggling for relief in Haiti and give them hope. If you wish to contribute to the Haiti relief fund there is a link to Wyclef Jeans YELE organization on the right hand side of the page.
Now that I have you in a charitable mood, when you hear the word homeless, do teens ever come to mind come to mind? Due to the growing recession many families are left on the streets and teens living in abusive homes are running away now more than ever. What can you do, some might ask. That's where Aeropostale comes in. Aeropostale the junior's clothing store has been having a jean drive to clothe homeless teens. They have been asking people to donate lightly worn jeans in exchange for 25% off your next purchase as well as the weight and satisfaction of a good deed on your shoulders. The drive will be going on until February 14th. If you would like more information on this matter you can find it at teensforjeans.com and for other charity opportunities somewhere near you go to DoSomething.org

Revel in the soft soothing sounds of Bon Iver
Bon Iver (Booniver) obscurely meaning "good winter" in french is a mood mellowing hit factory! There isn't a single song on their album I disapprove of. You may recognize their hit "Roslyn" which is featured in New Moon(which I am embarrassed to admit has an outstanding soundtrack as well). So sink your teeth into Bon Iver and let me what you think.
Some tracks to to get you started:
-Skinny Love
-Roslyn
-Blood Bank

Jonathan experiences Descrimination
Jonathan moved from Miami to North Cobb High school in Atlanta Georgia to live with his sister due to the fact that his parents no longer approved of his appearance. Before officially attending classes Escobar asked an administrator if it was acceptable if he was to wear a bright wig or heals, and was promptly given the okay. Within a matter of days his feminine attire began to be a "distraction" causing students to publicly voice their derogatory opinions. A fight broke out when a respectable student stood up for Escobar. After the fiasco the administrators informed Escobar that he can no longer dress in womens wear because it is in violation of their schools dress code policy. His story made the news and can be found on YouTube

Sweet, Subtle & Simple
Spring is on its way! I put this outfit together to ease you out of your typical winter look and push you forward. This is an equestrian inspired look hence the riding boots and the legging pant. The basket weave SLING BAG adds great texture to the ensemble and the sling bag just so happens to be the bag of choice for the upcoming season,so grab them while they're hot! The teal flowy top is something typical that we have seen before so its safe, but paired with the boots and the pant its flawless. Tie it all together with the double leather plated belt and your out the door. All of these Items can be found at FOREVER21.COM.
